Katie Ventura

My name is Katie Ventura and I am a personal chef in Middletown, Delaware.

I grew up in New York City with parents who had a taste for food and travel. My culinary journey began at a young age not only eating at high end restaurants but at mom and pop diners and everywhere in between. I have been lucky enough to experience many different cuisines while traveling to sixteen different countries from the North to South of Italy and France to South Korea and China. I like to incorporate many different cultures and styles into my cooking and enjoy Fusion cooking.

Many people believe a "foodie" is someone who only enjoys high end dishes but I believe a foodie is someone who enjoys all sorts of dishes and is especially open to trying new things.

I have always had a love for cooking but started my professional culinary career later in life. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in English. I then moved home where I became a NYC Paramedic for the next five years. It was then that I began hosting dinner parties for friends. I eventually decided to leave the Paramedic career and move to Charleston, South Carolina, my mother's home town and a place that's dear to my heart as I spent every summer there growing up. I enrolled in the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Charleston and realized my passion.  I excelled in my classes and was even chosen to cook beside Chef Bobby Flay at the Charleston Food and Wine Festival.

I am now serving the residents of Delaware and bringing them a culinary experience they won't soon forget.
